Since taking office, former U.S. President Donald Trump has been obsessed with Greenland due to its strategic location and valuable resources, particularly rare earth metals needed for the green transition and military high-tech industry. Currently, China controls most of these resources, and the U.S. and Europe want to change that. The story follows Greg Barnes, an Australian geologist, millionaire, and adventurer, in his search for a new mining location. He was invited to the White House to discuss Greenland's resource potential.Mining in an ice-covered area is difficult due to the harsh polar climate, lack of infrastructure, and limited personnel. Despite these challenges, Greenland is investing in its mining industry, with a mining school in Sisimiut training future miners.
