Giant Hornets vs. Western Honeybees: A Hopeless Battle

The Western honeybees are desperately fighting back against an attack by a Giant hornet (Vespa mandarinia) on their hive. However, the stings and bites of the Western honeybees have no effect whatsoever on the Giant hornet. One reason why Western honeybees cannot survive in the wild in Japan is the presence of the Giant hornet. When a colony of Western honeybees is attacked by a group of Giant hornets, it can be easily destroyed.
