Description

Andreas Wüest adores his 2010 Bentley Brooklands, one of the most generous ultra-luxury coupés ever made. A day's road trip in his native Switzerland shows off its best side – actually, its many best sides. As Zurich's centre wakes up, we dispatch the suburbs and head to the Ace Cafe near Lucerne. Regular car and bike meets happen at this hangout for recreationally outlaw-themed folk. Next is awesomely three-dimensional Switzerland: mountains, forests and lakes. The Brooklands moves with grace, reaching the Susten Pass's 2224 metre summit. "Up in the mountains on long corners, it's a big big joy. You're enjoying the landscape. It disconnects you from stress," reckons Andreas. The Brooklands had an uprated version of Bentley's stalwart 6.75-litre twin-turbo V8. Andreas loves the feeling of irresistible force meeting an ostensibly immovable object. "It's like being in an elevator going up several floors. You have to brace yourself when it gets moving." It's a car of apex craft, but in no way flash. "People have no idea of this car's value, or how old it is. In Switzerland people can be judgey." When Andreas feels like lowering his profile, the Brooklands is ideal. Discover more - https://bit.ly/48peQJN #Bentley #Bentleystories
