Health New Zealand has dropped recommendations for annual Covid boosters for most of the population. It says it's to ensure the vaccines are targeted at those most at risk of severe disease. Public health specialists say most people under 65 don't need a booster, but the elderly, Māori and Pasifika over 50, and those who are pregnant or have underlying medical conditions still do.
