Women in Tourism – ASFAVAL, a success story of community tourism in Valverde

Centre Stage aims to put a focus on women’s empowerment within the tourism sector, including the involvement of public institutions and businesses, with the active support of civil society. This UN Tourism programme was in the Dominican Republic in 2022 in close cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) and different tourism businesses that committed to improving the professional situation of women in tourism, leading efforts towards gender equality in the sector.
