The party has pledged to cap public transport fares at $20 a week in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, and $10 a week for the rest of the country. Leader Chris Hipkins says it will put money back into the pockets of commuters, but National has described the policy as "fanciful" and predicts Labour would end up borrowing to fund it.
