An adobe brick fireplace strategically built in the center of the east wall of my primitive thatched hut conveniently provides heat and a safe place for cooking my favorite wild meals. I also use an interesting technique to transfer an ember from a hand drill friction fire to a dry chaparral yucca stalk to create fire.
