Hamilton County corrections officer honored with Medal of Merit for helping injured police officer

Several months after a serious car accident injured a Cadiz police officer, he was reunited with the Hamilton County corrections officer who stopped to help him. On the morning of Nov. 2, 2025, there was debris on the road after an SUV hit Cadiz Police Ofc. Doug Barker. Hamilton County Corrections Officer Hannah Cline found him at the crash site at State Road 38 and Mechanicsburg Road, getting out of her car to see what she could do. While they waited for medics, she held Barker's hand so he knew he was not alone.
