Description
Finally I'm able to share with you a video that I've had on the sidelines since last April when I came back from Circuit Paul Ricard after the spectacular 2025 KENNOL Grand Prix de France Historique by HVM Racing. I highly doubt I'll post a better video this year in terms of both engine sounds and variety of machines, so much so that it wasn't easy at all to select the scenes to be included in the 'final cut', given the amount of good material I had in my folders. Anyway, here it is! 34 minutes of great sounding open wheelers and sports prototypes from the past in action on the French circuit.
Now in its 7th edition, the event aims to celebrate the history of single-seaters with races, parades and free practice sessions with the men and the machines that marked an era. In 2025 the main theme was the 20th anniversary of the Renault F1 Constructors World Championship. For this special occasion, the legendary 2005 Renault R25 F1 car returned to the track with ex-Renault F1 test driver, Franck Montagny, behind the wheel. The French team was also represented by two other cars, a 1979 RS10 and a 1983 RE40, both coming from the Turbo Era, plus a large area in the paddock celebrating their successes both as a team and as engine suppliers in Formula 1.
With so many iconic cars there could only be numerous famous drivers too. Adrien Tambay, André Lotterer, Alain Prost, Daniil Kvyat, Jacques Villeneuve, Jan Magnussen, Jean Alesi, Mark Webber, Nicolas Prost, Philippe Alliot, René Arnoux, Stefan Johansson, Tatiana Calderón, Thierry Boutsen, Victor Jabouille, Zak Brown. Charles Leclerc was also there as the special guest on Saturday.
In addition to free practice sessions on the track with old F1s, GP2s, World Series and F3000s, there were also some actual races from various championships such as the F2 Classic - Pré 79 and the F3 Classic - Pré 85, the Historic Formula Junior. Masters Historic Racing started its track season with the first rounds of the Masters Group C, for the famous sports prototype class from 1982 to 1993, and the Masters Racing Legends, gathering the 3-litre engined Formula 1 cars from 1966 through to 1985. Last but not least the '200 Km du GPFH', a one-and-a-half-hour endurance race with an incredible variety of vehicles from old GTs to sport prototypes and classic cars up to the 2000s.
Hope you like it!
