We Bought a Van With NO EXPERIENCE… What Could Go Wrong? 🚐

We bought a van with no experience… and now we’re attempting our biggest DIY project yet — turning this old 2011 Iveco Daily into a fully off-grid campervan home on wheels. In this first episode of our DIY campervan conversion series, Mado surprises Glen with the first reveal of the van after buying it in Germany while Glen was still back in Ireland. This is the very beginning of our van build journey, and honestly… we have no idea what we’re getting ourselves into. Before we can start building the camper, insulating the walls, installing electrics, solar panels, a bed, kitchen, or anything exciting, we first need to strip everything back and prepare the van properly. In this video, we remove everything from inside the van, take out the old flooring, clean the interior, inspect the bodywork, uncover problem areas, and start preparing the van for the next major steps of the conversion. This episode takes us right up to the point before we bring the van to the mechanic to get the damaged roof repaired. This is the start of our journey to convert a rusty old work van into a tiny home on wheels so we can travel Europe, live off-grid, and build the van life setup we’ve been dreaming about.
