The last video is from just a couple of days ago. So what a perfect time to take a look back at her iconic bleps. For those of you who don't know, the second clip, where she's staring right into the camera, was used on some "America's Funniest Animals" show (I can't remember if that's the right name). It was so funny watching the hosts laugh and discuss her video. And if memory serves, I think she won! Funny that the only blep I've caught Kodi doing was the one when he's a kitten along with Shorty and their double blep. Such a weird word. I asked google where it came from: The term “blep” originated online in the early 2010s, mostly in pet meme communities on Reddit, Tumblr, and Instagram. It describes when a cat (or dog, or other animal) sticks just the tip of their tongue out, often absentmindedly. The word itself is onomatopoeic, mimicking the silly, tiny sound the tongue might make if it went “blep.” ​Earliest uses: Around 2009–2011, it popped up in niche cat forums and image boards. ​Mainstream spread: By ~2014, it became widespread through subreddits like r/aww and r/blep, plus Tumblr meme culture. ​Dictionary recognition: In 2017, blep was added to the online Collins Dictionary as an “informal internet word.” So, while no single person “invented” it, it’s very much an internet community creation, like “derp” or “floof.” Well, now we all know!
