In today's video, we are heading deep into the unforgiving Australian bush to locate a line up of iconic Australian Army Trucks. Tucked away under decades of scrub and overgrowth, we’ve tracked down not one, but three legendary World War II military "Blitz" trucks. These incredible relics of history include both Chevrolet and Ford V8 models. They have been sitting out here exposed to the elements, forgotten by time. These CMP (Canadian Military Pattern) Blitz trucks aren’t just old pieces of heavy iron. They are a massive part of Australia’s military history. During World War II, these Chevrolet and side valve Ford V8 models served as the absolute backbone of the Australian Army. They were engineered to haul troops, heavy artillery and critical supplies across some of the most brutal, roadless terrain on earth. Without the rugged reliability of these four wheel drive workhorses, the mobilization of our forces across the continent and overseas simply wouldn’t have been possible. But finding them is only half the battle. Rescuing heavy vehicles from within the bush presents a logistical nightmare. Between navigating vine forests, avoiding the local venomous snakes and overcoming decades of rust and seized components, every single step requires precision. We go through the motion to see what each truck is made up of and try to determine will it run again for each after sitting for years.
