How to Tie a Tourniquet and Remove it for Blood Draws or IVs #shorts #phlebotomy #nursing

Tying a tourniquet is really simple once you learn how, and you'll do this many times per day as you draw blood or start IVs. To tie the tourniquet, make sure tourniquet is flat against skin, and pull from the back, creating tension. Cross the ends of the tourniquet at the front to create an "X". Loop one end of the tourniquet under the "X" you made from the top.
