Description

...So, it looks like winter isn't actually over just yet. Everyone may be annoyed at this, but no-one is more angry than Moomintroll. Too-Ticky had suggested that the Great Winter Bonfire would spell the end of Winter and since it hasn't this is clearly the most ultimate and supreme betrayal ever. It absolutely isn't the Lady of the Cold prolonguing things just a little more until Moomintroll learns an important lesson about time, the hardships of life and hope for the future. Nope, the stories of Moominvalley have never had life lessons buried deep into the narrative. Not ever. I'm sure it was clear throughout my playthrough of this game, but Moomintroll: Winter's Warmth is both a wonderful and beautiful experience. The more sobre tone of the story is allowed to shine through as much as the silly, whimsical world of Moominvalley. The many amazing characters, as flawed as we are, are each given their time to shine in a world that feels more like art than a computer game. The music further adds to the ambience and the difficulty even on the default setting is just right for such a relaxing experience. That you can make the difficulty easier to best suit your wants is wonderful for accessability, making the whole package even better. There were a handful of very minor issues, but nothing that brought me out of the experience. If you're a fan of the world of Moominvalley, this a game you'll love. If you like chill, relaxing experiences, you'll also love this. If you like both, this is a game that should be in your collection alongside Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley, presuming that isn't already in your library. So, what's next? I'm going to do a short Game Boy game to provide a weeks buffer, but the game that will follow it will be well worth the wait. As for the Game Boy game in question, it's a game that really feels like it should been an arcade port, but it isn't. It also involves space faring mutated flies, eating shields and a neutral zone where not even missiles can get you. It's also very, very silly. See you next let's play!
