The ambitious plan dubbed Project Sunrise has been years in the making to allow Australians on the east coast to fly non-stop to London or New York on board a fleet of custom-designed Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft. Qantas CEO Vanessa Hudson told reporters at Airbus’ headquarters in Toulouse, France, the first non-stop flight from Sydney to London would take off with passengers from October 2027. Flights will go on sale in February.
