Project Sunrise to launch first direct route between Sydney and London in 2027. The ambitious plan dubbed Project Sunrise has been years in the making to allow Australians on the east coast to fly non-stop to London or New York on board a fleet of custom-designed Airbus A350-1000ULR aircraft.
Qantas CEO Vanessa Hudson told reporters at Airbus’ headquarters in Toulouse, France, the first non-stop flight from Sydney to London would take off with passengers from October 2027. Flights will go on sale in February.
