No one came. Meet Ash. On June 6, she was abandoned by the only family she had ever known. Their reason? "The house is too busy and too loud for her. We don't have the time to keep her anymore." Ash is only 3 years old. She arrived at the shelter terrified, confused, and suffering from severe tremors. She struggles to keep her balance, her eyes are severely dilated, and she doesn't understand why her world was turned upside down. Her tremors are so bad she can't even eat. She sat alone in a cold metal kennel, lying on nothing but newspaper, waiting and hoping someone would save her. No one came. Then Ash was placed on the euthanasia list. Just before we made the heartbreaking decision to close our intakes, we couldn't turn our backs on her. We stepped in and rescued her, because Ash did not deserve to die simply because something is medically wrong with her. Now the hard part begins. We don't know why she has these tremors. We don't know what caused them. But we are determined to find out. Ash urgently needs a complete veterinary workup with a new veterinarian who can evaluate her neurological condition and help us determine what is happening inside her body. Until we have answers, we can't begin the treatment that could give her back a normal life. The reality is that our rescue is already carrying overwhelming veterinary debt.
