Vascular Cognitive Impairment – Advancing Evidence-based Care across the Continuum

About this Presentation Vascular Cognitive Impairment (VCI) can be a devastating condition for individuals, their families and caregivers, and there are often delays in recognition, diagnosis and treatment. A new Canadian Stroke Best Practice Recommendations (CSBPR) module on Vascular Cognitive Impairment was published in Alzheimer’s & Dementia in January 2025. Important highlights from the new CSBPR module on VCI will be shared, informing clinical management to support better outcomes. It will then explore the unique needs and perspectives of individuals living with cognitive changes following stroke, with a focus on practical strategies, tips and resources. Intended Audience Health professionals across the continuum of care, people with lived experience of heart failure, family members and caregivers of persons with lived experience.
