Ecuador Food Vlog- I ate a GUINEA PIG the TRADITIONAL way!

Did you know that people eat guinea pigs and think of them as a delicacy?! I remember having one as a pet-- never dreaming that it could be someone's dinner!! I ate guinea pig with an indigenous Kichwa family in Ecuador-- totally real, Ecuadorian traditional style!! I found out real quick that guinea pigs hold special value in Ecuador! They are eaten for special occasions AND are also used in traditional medicine. I was a little worried about eating one of the furry little animals but was open to try it-- especially since I had the opportunity to eat it with an indigenous Kichwa family! I could not pass up this opportunity!! It was a wonderful experience seeing how it was prepared the traditional way.
