What Makes You Happy? Why Don't We Invite Others to Church?

Glory to Jesus Christ! Glory Forever! What is true happiness? Is it wealth, health, success, comfort, or something else entirely? In this powerful Catholic homily, we reflect on the healing of the man born blind and the account of Saint Paul freeing a young woman from demonic possession. Both readings reveal a profound truth: lasting happiness cannot be found in money, possessions, health, or worldly success. True joy is found only in Jesus Christ. The man born blind did not experience complete happiness merely through physical healing. His deepest joy came when he recognized Jesus Christ as Lord and worshiped Him. Likewise, the merchants who profited from the possessed girl valued money more than the freedom of a suffering human soul. This sermon also challenges us to examine how willing we are to share our Catholic faith. We eagerly recommend movies, restaurants, and experiences to our friends, yet often hesitate to invite others to church or share the Gospel. If Christ is truly the most important part of our lives, are we willing to lovingly invite others to encounter Him?
