His century led his team to a two-wicket victory. The English team also qualified for the semi-finals. Brook achieved a feat in T20 World Cup history that legendary Indian batsmen like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have failed to achieve in their entire careers. Brook scored 100 runs off 51 balls against Pakistan, hitting 10 fours and four sixes. Brook's innings helped the English team win the match and qualify for the semi-finals. With this innings, the English captain created history, becoming the first and only player in the world to achieve this feat. Brook has now become the first captain in the world to score a century in a T20 World Cup. No other batsman had achieved this feat before him. Before Brook, the record for the longest innings as a captain in a T20 World Cup was held by former West Indies great Chris Gayle. Gayle had scored 98 runs, a record Brooke has now broken by scoring 100. Surprisingly, legends like Rohit and Virat Kohli have never scored a century in the T20 World Cup.
