CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Rise in distraction-style thefts targeting seniors in Hamilton

An elderly victim was robbed while being distracted by a female suspect in a Hamilton parking lot in the area of Queen St. N., on December 21, 2025. Two suspects are in custody. Hamilton Police launched Project Heirloom to address these distraction-style thefts. Over the course of the project’s two-month lifespan, police solved 10 occurrences, identified 11 accused persons resulting in 84 criminal charges.
