Taliban forces open fire on protest against women's dress code arrests

Taliban security forces opened fire on a protest in the city of Herat on Tuesday as demonstrators gathered to denounce the arrest and detention of women over dress code violations. Eyewitnesses report multiple women and children were injured. There are no official casualty figures yet. The protest came after Taliban authorities detained more than a dozen women for violating strict dress code regulations, which require women to wear full hijab, including a headscarf, a long robe covering the entire body, and a face covering leaving only the eyes visible.
