Description

This contracted shoot I'm solo, and hunting invasive feral pigs, feral cats, foxes and deer (Fallow & Reds). The critters are smashing the oats crop and causing all sorts of mayhem. There's a LOT of kill shots in this video, running my two 308 Winchester rifles, along with some long range 6.5PRC action. No, this isn't "hunting", I'm culling pests as requested and contracted to do by the landowner. If you're seeking a video with bulk shooting footage and no bullshit, this is your happy place !!! I'm cruising around this large property on my Suzuki King Quad AXI 500 ATV. Weather conditions were rather chilly at night to say the least, but it was nice and warm in the Amarok's roof top tent curled up in my sleeping bag. The ability to camp up right among crops in the new 4x4 rig really is handy. Thank you for watching and make sure you hit the bell icon 🔔 and subscribe so you don’t miss my next adventure. Until next time, stay safe and happy hunting! Call to action - If you would like to see the continuation of YouTube channels like mine or others. That's no joke and a staggering quantity of these pests damaging agricultural industries and the environment in Australia. No these are not pets, can't believe I need to write that, but this legit gets asked or accused more often than you would expect. It's always hard for some to comprehend the wastage on this type of gig when it's shoot and move on. We took as many deer backstraps as we could jam in the fridges, that's about all we have time to process without burning hours on end dressing deer all night. Remember, we are being paid to drop feral and pest animals, not spend half the night chopping up animals. I'm willing to be honest on how a lot of jobs run, so please respect that angle as one which is often the role as a paid shooter. We are not shooting feral pigs for human consumption on this trip. It is purely pest control of invasive species in Australia. These uncontrolled animals are an environmental and agricultural menace, often carrying bacteria and diseases like brucellosis. Pigs are left where they lay as carrion. Nothing generally lasts more than a week in the Aussie bush before it's just a few scattered remains. The shooting tripod I'm using is one which is available on my own webpage and YouTube reviewed in detail here: https://youtu.be/sFrf30fze2E My thermal scanner is the brand new Pulsar Oryx LRF XG35 monocular and also some use with the Pulsar Merger LRF XT50 Binoculars. Both are fantastic options. My 308Win bolt action is a full custom, the action is a Defiance, Triggertech Special, 18 inch Carbon Six, & N300Ti, all in an MDT HTN26 Carbon Fibre Chassis. I'm running a sprinkling of subsonic rounds, which are reloads using 190 Sub-X projjies. My thermal on this rifle is a Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XG50. The blue rifle, AKA #smurfgun is an Australian GCPD Arms Elite Series II chambered in 6.5PRC, 24" Carbon Six, all sitting in the GCPD Arms fully adjustable chassis. I'm shooting Norma 143gr Bondstrike rounds and the optic is a Delta Stryker HD 3.5-21x44 FFP. My 308Win is a Cat D firearm and I have no wish to show this one off further than what's in the content. I'm using 150gr Norma Whitetail ammunition, and must say, it goes alright as you will watch. The scope on this bad boy is the amazing Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XL60, hands down my favorite all round scope for this type of mixed shooting work. I am a vertebrate pest control - contract shooter in NSW. For those wondering about the equipment being used, I hold the necessary permits and licences when working under paid contracts in NSW. This isn't hunting. It's professional pest control. If you are seeking information regarding that, please check the FAR webpage for details in your state. All shooting is performed on privately owned farms, with exclusive permission granted in writing for paid services. Please don't ask how much I earn or how to become a contract shooter. I'm not a business adviser. The requirements and information vary state by state. If seeking this information, research your own states legislation. I get this question a LOT, and it's not a path I wish to go down on social media.
