States and events... what do they look like? How might they be recorded?

An example of state and event behaviour performed by two Palawan peacock-pheasants (Polyplectron napoleonis). The state is the behaviour that the animal "is in" - i.e., a long duration behaviour that we could time. The events are short, sharp, quick responses and we could count all occurrences of these as they are seen.
