Media Day at the 2026 New York International Auto Show. April 1, 2026. New York, New York. We were granted exclusive press access to attend Media Day at the 2026 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) at the Javits Center, and this year is a massive milestone. 2026 marks the 125th Anniversary of the show, which originally debuted in 1900 at Madison Square Garden with just 69 exhibitors. Walking the floor today, it is incredible to see how much has changed, as the show now takes over nearly 1 million square feet across four levels of the Javits Center. This year's energy is all about "Limitless Performance." We saw everything from 1,500-horsepower hypercars like the Zenvo Aurora Agil to the world premiere of the Hyundai Boulder Concept, a rugged off-roader that is clearly aimed at the heart of the adventure market. Subaru also made waves by unveiling the 2027 Getaway, its most powerful production EV yet, proving that the shift to electric isn't slowing down the performance side of the industry. Beyond the static displays, the 2026 show is more interactive than ever. While we spent time on the test tracks, the public can now experience the expanded EV Test Track with 10 different manufacturers, the return of Ford’s Bronco Built Wild ride, and a brand-new outdoor Toyota Experience track. For those who love car culture beyond the showroom, the show even features the actual Bentley from the "FULL SEND" film and a massive custom car exhibit curated by Fast & Furious star Sung Kang.
