The Philippines isn’t for everyone. Yes, it may be economical, but if you’re from the west, you may find many inconveniences and many culture issues. I don’t recommend getting advice from ppl who have only vacationed for a few days to a few weeks here, that is not enough to make a decision. The best way to find out if the Philippines is for you is to actually live here for at least a year, and in my opinion, that’s still a short time. The Philippines would be a great place to live if you are open minded, have a lot of patience, have created a passive sustainable income (savings will go fast if you don’t have a plan), and lastly, can handle a lot of stress. And this by no means is coming from an expert. You see, the Philippines is not your country, and comparing it to yours will make you quite miserable, and may actually make you hate the country. Yes, the country needs a lot of improvement (anyone who says it’s fine the way it is doesn’t care about the Philippines) and it might never see the potential it truly has. Being silent doesn’t help too, it’s ok to share your opinions because it may help Filipinos see other views from developed countries and culture and cause them to think of making better decisions for their families. So enjoy the Philippines, share your thoughts, but be respectful. There is no perfect country anywhere! Have fun, make friends but always be cautious. You only live once, so marking the Philippines off your bucket list would be just that, just another thing off your list :) the Philippines is what you make out of it, so take that with a grain of salt 😊
