Description

Wonderful overnight motorhome location at Weinsberg in south western Germany. In this video, I explore the historic town of Weinsberg in south-western Germany. Located at the intersection of the A6 and A81, this town is a significant stop on the German Wine Route and the Castle Road. I cover the practicalities of staying here in a motorhome, including the specific facilities at the local Stellplatz, local LPG availability, and grocery shopping for larger vehicles. Technical Travel Guide: Weinsberg by Motorhome Motorhome Stay: Eugen-Diez-Straße Stellplatz I stayed at the official Wohnmobilstellplatz Weinsberg, located centrally with quick access to the town. GPS Coordinates: 49° 08' 55" N, 09° 17' 03" E Cost: Free parking for up to 3 nights (72 hours). Electricity: 12 power points (16A/8A). Cost: €0.50 per kWh (Accepts 50-cent coins only). Water: Fresh water at €1.00 for 100L or €0.50 for ~40L (Accepts 50-cent and 1-euro coins). Disposal: Free grey and black water disposal (Holiday-Cleany station). Notes: Paved/gravel surface. Suitable for vehicles up to 8m. Note that vehicles over 6m should reverse in to allow the rear to overhang the grass area. LPG / Autogas Availability For those with refillable gas systems (like Gaslow or Alugas), there is a reliable LPG station nearby: EDi Hohenlohe Weinsberg-Ellhofen: Located at Heilbronner Str. 51, 74189 Weinsberg. GPS: 49° 08' 52" N, 09° 18' 48" E (Approx. 3km from the Stellplatz). Connector: ACME / Dish. Note: This is a 24-hour automated station accepting Maestro, Visa, Mastercard, and cash. Supermarket Parking Kaufland Weinsberg: Located on Haller Straße. This is the best option for stocking up as it features a very large, open parking lot that easily accommodates 7.5m+ motorhomes - although I walked there. Bakery/Local Shops: A bakery and smaller grocery stores are within 300m of the Stellplatz for quick daily supplies. Sightseeing & Historic Highlights Burgruine Weibertreu (Castle Ruins) The main landmark is the "Faithful Wives" castle ruins, which sit above the town's vineyards. Day Parking (Hildthalle): For a shorter walk, park at Grasinger Hag Straße (GPS: 49° 09' 08" N, 09° 17' 11" E). The Legend: During the 1140 siege, the women were told they could leave with whatever they could carry; they famously carried their husbands to safety. Admission: Approx. €4.00 for the inner ruins and chapel museum. Other Sites Justinus Kerner House: The former home of the famous poet/physician, located at the base of the castle hill. Johanneskirche: A historic Romanesque basilica significant to the German Peasants' War. For information about Solbio, please see : https://www.solbio.co.uk/ https://getsolbio.com/en I live in a motorhome full time and travel around Europe in it. I spend most of my time in Poland, Germany and Italy. Vanlife is my life. In my YouTube channel, I present reviews of recreational vehicles. I do this by regularly attending trade events such as CMT Stuttgart, Abenteuer und Allrad, Caravan Salon Dusseldorf, Warsaw Caravan and Camping Show and sometimes others. I cover equipment, including 12v electrical equipment and talk a lot about lithium batteries. I also show some of the places I have visited in Europe in my own motorhome, as well as the places you can stay at! I try to give as much coverage as I can to official campsites and free places which I use for overnighting. Therefore you can find here the aire or stellplatz that you are possibly looking for.
