Held each year at Samgwangsa Temple in celebration of Buddha’s Birthday, the Samgwangsa Lantern Festival is one of Korea’s largest and most spectacular lantern events, featuring around 70,000 lanterns that illuminate the entire temple grounds. Recognized by CNN as one of the “50 most beautiful places in South Korea,” the temple becomes even more enchanting after dark.
