Abstract and biography
I’m a PhD student in the Human Pain Genetics Lab at McGill University. My work focuses on the contribution of rare variants to chronic pain conditions. In the presentation, we studied the coding variants in chronic pain conditions from whole-exome sequencing data of around 500k participants. Our analyses identified 286 variant-pain associations and 10 gene-pain associations. Functional investigation highlighted the importance of the nervous system to chronic pain. We also found rare variants contributed modestly to chronic pain in this cohort.
