Description

The Pain Network's mission is to contribute, through fundamental fundamental, clinical, evaluative and epidemiological research, to quality of life of Quebecers suffering from chronic pain. Presenter Xiang Ao Student at McGill University Abstract and biography I’m a PhD student in the Human Pain Genetics Lab at McGill University. My work focuses on the contribution of rare variants to chronic pain conditions. In the presentation, we studied the coding variants in chronic pain conditions from whole-exome sequencing data of around 500k participants. Our analyses identified 286 variant-pain associations and 10 gene-pain associations. Functional investigation highlighted the importance of the nervous system to chronic pain. We also found rare variants contributed modestly to chronic pain in this cohort. #pain #chronicpain #qprn #qnjpi #research #science #popularization #scicomm #genetics #geneticvariation ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ►► Facebook https://bit.ly/3gCakKc ►► Bluesky https://bit.ly/3QdReOy ►► Website https://qprn.ca/fr/ ►► Linkedin https://www.linkedin.com/company/rqrd-qprn ►► Spotify Parlons douleur https://spoti.fi/3QjBhGG ►► Spotify Let's Talk About Pain https://spoti.fi/3EMpH42 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Intro music credit https://freemusicarchive.org/music/Scott_Holmes/corporate-motivational-royalty-free-music/Think_BIG/
