I'm walking through a bird sanctuary with 240 species of birds, and all I can think is: why do we keep telling ourselves we have to choose? Cat person. Bird person. It's not a rivalry. The Lanai Cat Sanctuary on the island of Lanai in Hawaii gets it. You step off the boat, walk into a cat sanctuary, and the first thing you see is a pedestal with a guide to every native bird on the island.
