A group of kind hearted people stopped by and the dog as if sensing the people who good, stopped too. They saw what was in her mouth, a puppy. So of course they help her. This breed of dog is often used for puppy mills. They are forced to get pregnant over and over again. And each of their babies are taken from her soon after birth. When she gets too worn down to breed as many puppies. They would abandon her. This dog probably had been on the street for a long time. And got pregnant on her own this time. But the puppy wasn't able to get to her milk due to how long her hair was. She probably had other puppies but they died. It's also possible she hid them somewhere. Unfortunately, unable to communicate, she wasn't able to tell the humans were the rest of her puppies are. They can only speculate that this was the only puppy. They gave her a shave and took great care of her. She is recovering and seems okay right now. So is her baby. Her baby isn't afraid of humans at all although she is a bit guarded still. But you can't blame her for what she had been through. In her mind, her puppy might be taken from her at any moment again. Let's hope they let her keep her puppy.
