Princess Kate Introduces George and Charlotte to Wimbledon Star Arthur Fery

British tennis star Arthur Fery invited Prince George and Princess Charlotte to join him on court as the Royal Family attended the Wimbledon men’s singles final. The British wildcard met the Prince and Princess of Wales and their two eldest children shortly after the family arrived at the All England Club. Princess Kate, who is patron of the club, congratulated Fery on his remarkable run to the Wimbledon semi-finals and handed him a birthday card as he celebrated turning 24. During their conversation, Fery told Kate he had heard that George and Charlotte both played tennis. He later revealed that he had offered to hit with the young royals should they ever fancy taking him up on the invitation. Fery became one of the home stories of the Championships after reaching the final four of the men’s singles as a wildcard. The British player also spoke to Kate about playing on Centre Court and described the experience as “really special”. Prince William congratulated Fery on his tournament and wished him a happy birthday, telling the player: “What a tournament.” George and Charlotte joined their parents in the Royal Box for the men’s final between defending champion Jannik Sinner and second seed Alexander Zverev. Prince Louis did not attend. The royal family received a standing ovation as they entered the Royal Box, with Kate waving to the Centre Court crowd before taking her seat.
