Kane joins England squad as they prepare for Friendly vs Tunisia

Thomas Tuchel says he has “total belief” that England can be in the reckoning to win this summer’s FIFA World Cup despite Friday’s underwhelming draw against Uruguay and a growing injury list. It is just eight weeks until the head coach selects the group he believes have the traits and talent to replicate Sir Alf Ramsey's 1966 heroes by triumphing on the world stage. Tuchel chose an expanded 35-man squad for the final camp before taking that decision, with 19 players spending some time on the field in England's penultimate friendly on Friday. It was a stop-start performance in a 1-1 draw against a physical Uruguay, featuring divisive defender Ben White's first international goal and some poor officiating. Over the weekend eight players left the England camp including Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka, who have returned to Arsenal for medical assessment, despite being amongst 11 established players who sat out the Uruguay game to stay fresh for Tuesday’s friendly against Japan.
