Description
Intro:
Join me for a scenic walk documenting the historic village of Carburton and the surrounding Dukeries estate. We begin our journey coming in from Worksop Road, capturing the serene Carburton water meadows and the gentle flow of the River Poulter.
What’s in this video:
Village Life: Exploring the Norton end of the village with its traditional Welbeck Estate houses and the charming Old School Tea Rooms.
Heritage Sites: A visit to the redundant St Giles Church, a 12th-century gem with its famous double sundial. We also pass the Manor Farm House conversion, showcasing the village's architectural evolution.
Iconic Landmarks: Walking through Carburton Gate House and down the magnificent Limetree Avenue—Europe's longest double avenue of lime trees.
Restoration: Our walk concludes at the Clumber Ornamental Bridge. I’ll show you the incredible restoration work completed after the bridge suffered severe vandalism in 2018.
