Gangasagar Mela on Sagar Island during the Makar Sankranti pilgrimage season. Enormous temporary tent city established to accommodate millions of pilgrims attending the Gangasagar Mela at the sacred confluence of the River Ganges and the Bay of Bengal. Thousands of colourful tents arranged in organized grids stretch across the landscape, forming a temporary settlement complete with pathways, service zones, transport access, and public facilities for devotees arriving from across India. A large turquoise water body visible in the foreground appears to be a temporary ritual or utility reservoir created for mela operations and pilgrim use. Additional scenes show temple structures near the Kapil Muni Temple area, busy roads lined with temporary shelters and vehicles, along with surrounding greenery, ponds, and agricultural land characteristic of rural Sagar Island.
