Description

#aviation #tristar #lockheedmartin An enthusiastic and easy to understand video about the Lockheed L-1011 TriStar which flew during 'The Golden Age of Flight'.... why it came about, the engines it used (Rolls Royce RB211's), automation systems like Direct Lift Control and Autoland, and how the Cabin operated. We also look at features like its S-Duct and why preferable to 'straight through' tri-jet designs like the DC-10. Finally why the TriStar sadly succumbed. This was an aircraft that was well ahead of its time with some of its technology when it entered commercial service in the early 1970's. Part of a series of videos I am planning on my channel for passenger aircraft that flew during "The Golden Age of Flight", loosely from the 50s to the 80s, made with the help of my independent video editor Simon. Let me know what you think of this video and if you'd like to see more, with suggestions of what aircraft we cover next, please do let us know......maybe the fabulous Concorde with some unique content about this aircraft. Made using Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premier Pro, and 3D renders and animations made in 3D opensource software Blender, No AI - except the match box image of the L-1011. These videos take lots of effort, planning and scripting, for your enjoyment. Time Stamps 0:00 - An update and word from Joe 0:41 - Why the L-1011 TriStar came about 8:24 - Automation of the TriStar 11:29 - The Cabin 14:41 - The Demise of the TriStar 15:46 - End Credits / A Final word from Peter Sellers
