This universal power cable might stop your Nvidia GPU melting

Corsair has a universal 12v-2x6 power cable that's designed to work with all modern Nvidia GPUs and give you peace of mind. It works with any PSU that has a native 12V-2x6 connector (from ANY brand not just Corsair). It's "dumb" in that it doesn't require any firmware or software and uses a Bimetallic thermal normally closed switch that essentially cuts off power to the GPU when the switch reaches 65 degrees C. This means that the GPU is protected because the actual connector shouldn't then get hotter and risk melting. You should still make sure it's carefully plugged in and fully seated in both the PSU and GPU but it's then a potentially great and very affordable solution.
