Xavier Becerra takes the lead in the California Governor's race as the vote count continues

The vote count continues, after California's Tuesday primary, and there remain a lot of questions about who will face off in November. Former HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra has now punched his ticket to the November runoff, after leap-frogging Republican Steve Hilton in a vote dump Friday afternoon, but questions still remain whether Hilton or Tom Steyer will make it through, as millions of ballots remain to be tabulated. Then there's the race of Los Angeles Mayor, incumbent Karen Bass is confirmed to make the run-off, but will it be Spencer Pratt or Nithya Raman that Bass faces off with? At this hour, Pratt remains in second, roughly 20,000 votes ahead of Raman, but that's only after Raman closed the gap by 12,000 votes in the latest ballot count Friday - with prediction markets now seeing Raman as the favorite to make the November ballot.
