My New Favorite Place in the World

Growing up in New Zealand with dirt bike riding as our family sport, I was lucky enough to experience tens, maybe even hundreds of trail rides - A type of dirt biking event where you just show up and ride a natural terrain circuit 'till your heart's content. Most of my fondest riding memories spawned from just such meetings as these and I got to see so much of our beautiful countryside, whilst honing skills and experience that I still rely on every weekend to this day! Friends were made, laughs were had... It's a core part my identity. Sadly the trail riding scene dried up in my hometown of Nelson some years ago, and I've been making do with private land when available, and poaching when not 😔 But late last year, I moved up to the North Island... And am pleased to report that the trail riding scene is alive and well here! It's been so great to reconnect with this childhood passion of mine - Travelling every weekend to beautiful new places, meeting likeminded people and of course doing some amazing riding. However, one event immediately separated itself from the rest: Berm Buster. I believe it's best trail ride in New Zealand, and maybe even the world... Here's why.
