Description
At the 2026 Grand Prix de Monaco Historique (April 24-26), front-engined sports cars from the 1950s dominated the Series C class, named after Vittorio Marzotto. This category pitted racing cars produced between 1952 and 1957 against each other in a race that celebrated the golden age of two-seaters and is highly rewarding to watch, thanks to spectacular driving, with drivers harnessing the power of powerful engines on vintage tyres while battling the curbs and guardrails of Monte Carlo. The competition was divided into three classes, based on engine size and braking systems, and included some of the most prestigious marques in automotive history, such as Ferrari, Aston Martin, Jaguar, and Maserati. The latter was celebrated, as 2026 marks the centenary of Maserati's racing debut, and models such as the 200SI, 250S, 150S, and A6GCS Series 2 were on display. The Ferraris, including the 166MM/53, 250MM, 500TR, and 750 Monza, were spectacular. The winner was Richard Wilson, who dominated the race in his Maserati 250S (number 56), winning the up to 2-litre class and taking first place overall. Second place went to Frederic Wakeman in his Cooper-Jaguar T38 (number 76). Mathias Sielecki in his Aston Martin DB3S (number 70) took third place, with a decisive overtaking move in the closing stages. I have to thank my friend and YouTuber @19Bozzy92, with whom I collaborated to create the video footage. Enjoy! 😉
Buona visione! 😉
