A boy feeds a piece of sushi to a shark, and the sharks become his friends. A tornado destroys his home, leaving him drifting at sea. Sharks surround his raft and bring him back. He learns to swim with them, grows fins and gills. Max hooks him while fishing, takes him home, and builds a pool. When Max tells his classmates, no one believes him — until Shark Boy bursts into the classroom.
