We’re proud to share the successful hatching of Bellinger River snapping turtle at Symbio Wildlife Park, a significant milestone in the recovery of this critically endangered species. Working in partnership with Taronga Zoo, DCCEEW and Symbio Conservation Foundation, these hatchlings form part of a carefully managed breeding program designed to safeguard the species following the devastating impacts of disease in the wild. Every hatchling represents more than just a new life, it’s a step toward rebuilding a wild population and securing a future for a species found nowhere else on Earth!
