Workshop: Sheep of the Future

Dr Natalie Pickering (Focus Genetics) & Dr Tricia Johnson (AgResearch). Like all farming systems, sheep operations face increasing economic, environmental, cultural and social challenges, including climate change and consumer expectations about their food. Genetic improvement has the potential to help with these challenges. This workshop explored some of these challenges and the research programmes that are underway to address them, including time for discussion to explore what breeders and commercial farmers see as the priorities in this space.
