British soul singer Mica Paris and American jazz vocalist Will Downing (known for his hit from 1988 “A Love Supreme”) joined forces in 1989 for their duet “Where Is the Love”, a remake of the 1972 Roberta Flack and Donny Hathaway classic. The song became a major success, reaching No. 19 on the UK Singles Chart and climbing to No. 7 on the US R&B chart, earning both artists international recognition. It remained their only major collaboration. Mica Paris went on to enjoy a successful solo career with hits like “My One Temptation”, while Will Downing became known for his sophisticated blend of R&B and jazz ballads.
