Police close Highway 160 near Richards Boulevard in Sacramento.

A person is in the hospital after a shooting Wednesday morning, the Sacramento Police Department said. A heavy police presence can be seen at Dos Rios and Vine streets in the Dos Rios Triangle. Police said officers went to the area just after 5:30 a.m. for a report of a person who had been shot. Officers found that person, and they were taken to a nearby hospital, police said. Details were not released on the motive behind the shooting and how many people are wanted in connection. The age, gender and extent of injuries for the person shot are also unknown. About two miles away from this crime scene, Caltrans cameras show police holding Highway 160 traffic near Richards Boulevard. It is not known at this time if both investigations are connected.
