Description

A small troop of Japanese monkeys (aka snow monkey; Macaca fuscata fuscata, family Cercopithecidae) climbed up a defoliated tree of Kaki Persimmon (Diospyros kaki, family Ebenaceae) beside the farmland to harvest and feed on ripe fruits one by one. Other members on the ground picked up and ate the fallen fruits under the kaki tree. One of the adult females had a black collar with GPS. Playful infants acrobatically climbed up and down the kaki tree. Captured with my new trailcam in the snowy late-morning (around 10:30 - 11:25 AM) of early-December 2024 in Japan. It was 2 - 3 degrees Celsius as it snowed hard. For a full story (text in Japanese); https://sigma-nature-vlog.blogspot.com/2026/03/blog-post_01.html
