This is the heart-stopping moment a worker climbed onto an excavator to escape a raging flood.
Dramatic footage shows the man clinging to the top of the heavy machinery to avoid fast-flowing, murky water in Central Java, Indonesia.
The flood struck the Senowo River in Magelang District while the worker was operating heavy equipment in the area.
Reports said the water flow surged suddenly, carrying mud mixed with cold lava and rocks from Mount Merapi, leaving the worker with little time to react.
Nearby residents screamed in panic, praying for the man's safety as the water and debris battered the machinery.
An onlooker said: 'Luckily, the excavator was heavy enough to withstand the lahar flow without tipping over. It was so terrifying for him.'
Moments later, the flood subsided, allowing the worker to climb to safety on March 3.
Heavy thunderstorms and torrential rain hit the region on Tuesday, triggering cold lava floods from Mount Merapi.
Authorities urge residents to remain vigilant, avoid riverbanks and low-lying areas, and follow official warnings to stay safe.
