Description
In this video I make a hollow form from Burr Elm stabilised with epoxy.. I've worked with quite a bit of this batch of Burr Elm and it is full of inclusion's and hollow sections, making it near impossible to turn without some kind of stabilising. I used a slow set epoxy coloured with mica powders to give a molten lava kind of look to the top. I know resin is a bit like marmite, some people love it and other people hate it. I only try and use it, if I think it is necessary to save a piece of wood or to enhance a piece. I think on this piece it does both.. Thanks for checking it out..
