World's largest Mini Egg unveiled by master chocolatiers in time for Easter!

This giant Easter egg is being wheeled out of the workshop by master chocolatier Claire Fielding and her colleague. This Mega egg at Cadbury World weighs in at 55kg. It's about the same weight as a cheetah. The chocolatiers are putting the finishing touches to the egg, adding little speckles with a paint brush. Claire Fielding says: "So this is our Mini Egg. This is 55kg. It's three feet tall (70cm) and is the world's largest Mini Egg." Mini Eggs are a popular Easter treat in Britain. They are only available around this time of year and are known to be particularly moreish. "This is a Mini Egg, this is very popular at Easter. So this is filled with milk chocolate on the inside and it's got a crisp outside," says Fielding. It was created as a one-off Easter special to entertain visitors to the Cadbury World theme park in the chocolate factory experience in Birmingham. Nathan Barnett, general manager at Cadbury World says: "So Easter and chocolate go hand in hand. And Easter is a really busy time for us here at Cadbury World. So we always want to do something really special at Easter to really join in with the celebrations. So this year, to mark that, we've built the Mega Mini Egg which is 55 kilos, took two days to make by our extremely talented chocolatiers." According to British confectioner Cadbury, this is the largest Mini Egg it has ever made. The Mega Mini Egg is on display from Monday 30 March until Sunday 12 April at Cadbury World.
