Welcome to Part 8 of our epic journey across northern Pakistan on two wheels! 🏍️ We kicked off from home in Gilgit City, heading out into the mountains, crossing the historic Danyore Bridge connecting to the mighty Karakoram Highway (KKH). Riding alongside the Gilgit River, surrounded by rugged peaks, we pushed the throttle, leaned deep into corners and battled temptation vs maturity on the open straights and sharp turns alike. Our ride then took us to the outskirts of the Chalt Valley / Nagar intersection, where we stopped to admire the valley view and soak in nature’s grandeur. Then onward to the stunning Rakaposhi View Point — our resting stop, where the 7,788 m giant Rakaposhi looms like a sentinel over the road ahead. It has historical value and dramatic scenery. Crossing this bridge marks a clear entry from the city outskirts into the mountain corridor; it’s symbolic of leaving urban terrain and entering mountain road territory. For a biker, crossing this bridge sets the tone: narrow passages, rising terrain and road discipline ahead. **Karakoram Highway (KKH)** The Karakoram Highway is one of the most iconic high-altitude road routes in the world, connecting Pakistan to China via Gilgit-Baltistan. On this leg you ride along parts of it, which means paved high-quality sections, but also exposed elevations, steep drop-offs and unpredictable weather. For your superbike adventure, the KKH offers the perfect blend of thrill (straights + speeds) and caution (turns + terrain). **Chalt Valley (near Nagar valley intersection) The route you mention crosses near the Chalt Valley / Naran valley intersection. This region lies in upper Kaghan / adjacent corridor and offers superb vistas, greener slopes, alpine terrain, a marker you’re approaching the higher altitude zones. Stopping here for the valley view allows your ride to pause, absorb nature’s grandeur before pushing onward. **Nagar Valley** Nagar Valley lies north of Gilgit, in a region defined by steep terrain, high peaks like Rakaposhi and Diran, and the KKH running through it. Historically a princely state (the “Nagar” state) and now part of the Gilgit-Baltistan region, the valley is rugged, remote, and full of dramatic vistas. Riding into Nagar means you’re deep into mountain terrain. You paused near the Chalt intersection in Nagar — a perfect vantage to breathe in the high-altitude valley atmosphere before the next viewpoint Rakaposhi. **Rakaposhi View Point & Rakaposhi A highlight stop: Rakaposhi View Point lies along the Karakoram Highway in the Nagar/Bagrote area of Gilgit-Baltistan and offers one of the closest and most dramatic views of the mountain Rakaposhi (7,788 m) rising nearly uninterrupted from base to summit. This viewpoint is a perfect milestone for your ride because it combines scenic reward (you see the giant peak) with a logical rest point before ascending further.
